HMV Launches "purehmv"
HMV Launches "purehmv" 21 September 2009
HMV has unveiled its unique new rewards scheme, purehmv, which enables customers to redeem points earned on purchases made at any of HMV’s 250 UK stores or online at hmv.com against ‘money-can’t-buy’ items.

It’s easy to become a purehmv member – you join for just £3 in HMV stores or online at hmv.com.

Thereafter, each time you present the card when making a purchase instore or ordering online at hmv.com, the points total on your membership account is updated automatically. As a member, you receive a monthly electronic newsletter as well as e-mail alerts as new special rewards become available.

Members earn 100 points for each £1 spent. Points can be redeemed against a fantastic range of rewards from the world of music, film and games via a dedicated online members’ Arena at www.hmv.com/arena. Selected items are then despatched with free delivery.

purehmv has been trialled successfully at HMV stores in the West Midlands and East Anglia since last October (2008), when such rewards as a Gibson SG guitar signed by Paul Weller, a ‘walk-on’ part in the latest American Pie movie and VIP tickets to the European premiere of Star Trek have all been snapped up.

The scheme has been developed with leading customer relationship agency EHS Brann, which manages member communications. HMV brand partner venturethree has developed brand identity and creative as well as the online Arena. IT partner Clarity Commerce developed the technical infrastructure for purehmv.

HMV’s Head of CRM Marketing, Matt Button, comments:

“The purehmv rewards scheme will be unique in the market place. There is no other card out there that gives people access to such amazing, ‘money-can’t-buy’ rewards, ranging from signed guitars to VIP tickets for film premieres.

"The real beauty of it is that in getting our customers closer to the music, film and games they love, purehmv will also enable HMV to get even closer to its customers.”
