St John’s Shopping Centre’s Manager, Siobhan McConnell, will be vying with five others for the coveted title of Shopping Centre Manager of the Year (small shopping centre) at the prestigious national SCEPTRE Awards to be held at a glittering ceremony in June held at the Dorchester in London. The SCEPTRE Awards, recognise the best practice and the best people in the shopping centre industry, and is widely regarded as the pre-eminent accolades in the shopping centre industry. Over the past 10 years, The SCEPTRE Awards have put the spotlight on management teams, retailers and suppliers that demonstrate real excellence. Siobhan McConnell has been the driving force behind St John’s Shopping Centre in Perth for 11 years. Under Siobhan’s steady management, St John’s Shopping Centre has established itself as the beating heart of Perth’s vibrant shopping area, defying challenging economic circumstances and demonstrating a sustained increase in footfall in 2008 and in the first quarter of 2009. Siobhan McConnell commented. “This is indeed a great honour to be shortlisted for a SCEPTRE Award and really puts St John’s Shopping Centre and Perth firmly on the map. I just hope I can do Perth proud and bring the trophy back on June 24th.”
