Bonmarche Wears it Pink for Charity
05 November 2009Never ones to pass up an opportunity to do something good for charity, the staff of Perth’s Bonmarche store in St John’s Shopping Centre, recently donned their pink pajamas for a day to “Wear it Pink” in support of the national Breast Cancer Campaign. The event, which took place on Friday 30th October, saw the whole team getting into the spirit of the day, contributing to a fundraising total of £955 which was raised by Bonmarche staff across Scotland. The Perth store raised £42 on the day by dressing in their pajamas and approaching customers for donations. In 2008 Bonmarche stores raised £45,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign and have raised over £80,000 since they started supporting the charity in 2007. Elaine Keiro, store manager, said “We’re so pleased to be able to support Breast Cancer Campaign again this year and enjoyed involving lots of pink fundraising activities into our wear it pink day.” Liz Monks, director of fundraising at Breast Cancer Campaign said, “Thank you to all the staff at Bonmarch Perth for taking part in wear it Pink. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and it’s great to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves. Their support will help us achieve our mission of beating breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research.”
