Staff from the Bonmarche store in St John’s Shopping Centre, Perth, will be waving goodbye to their area manager today – with a difference! Ditching his company car in favour of the humble bicycle, Sean Casey, 40, will set off for his 40 mile charity bike ride from the Perth Bonmarche store to the Falkirk Bonmarche store in aid of Sands, the UK charity that supports anyone affected by the death of a baby. Elaine Keiro, store manager of Bonmarche Perth said, “The bike ride is part of a series of fundraising campaigns to raise money for Sands. Sean Casey, our area manager lost a child and Sands was a great support to him and his wife, who both turned 40 this year. They’ve pledged to raise £40,000 for the charity and we’re delighted to be helping them achieve that goal.” Perth shoppers have already got in on the act, pledging £1 each to guess how long it will take 40 year old Sean to cycle the 40 miles to Falkirk, and already raising a few hundred of pounds in advance of the event.
